Family Nature Quest – Saturday, March 2, 2013 (10:00 AM – Noon)

Want to learn about nature as a family?  Come to our “fundana” activities each month and learn about a different topic! There will be 12 quests total and at each program the family will receive one bandana about the topic.  The family that completes the most quests will receive a bonus bandana for the entire family! The program is $10.00 per family.  Pre-register required. Pay for the program at the Park Office. 

 

Wildlife of our World – Saturday, March 2, 2013 (1:00 PM – 2:00 PM)

Alligators, snakes, and lizards, oh my!  Learn about the animals you could find on the park!  $1.00 per person.  Please pay at the Park Office.

 

Nature Hike – Saturday, March 2, 2013 (3:00 PM – 4:30 PM)

Meet at the Sempervirens Trailhead for a ranger led hike to learn about the Coastal environment!  Free!

 

Homeschool Wednesday – Wednesday, March 6, 2013 (9:30 AM – 11:30 AM)

Join us on the first Wednesday of the month through May. Each month we will focus, discover, and enjoy a different nature related topic with hands on activities. $2 per student.  Please pay at the Park Office.

 

“No School Today” Nature Camp – Friday, March 8, 2013 (9:30 AM – 12:30 PM)

School's out and parents are invited to send their Pre-K - 8th graders to half-day nature camp. Children will enjoy nature activities and outdoor fun. Bring snacks and drinks. Pre-register required.  $5 per student.  Please pay at the Park Office.

 

Bee Creative – Saturday, March 9, 2013 (10:00 AM – 11:00 AM)

Join us during this fun craft and make a bee kite you can fly!  $1.00 per person.  Please pay at the Park Office.

 

Busy as a Bee – Saturday, March 9, 2013 (2:00 PM – 3:00 PM)

Learn about honey bees and how they make their honey. View a live hive and try to find the queen bee.  $1.00 per person.  Please pay at the Park Office.

 

Mommy & Me – Wednesday, March 13, 2013 (9:30 AM – 10:30 AM)

Come to the park for an hour of fun with your little one!  We will learn about nature with songs, activities, and outdoor time!  Recommended ages 3 & 4.  Free!  Meet at the Nature Center.

Come join the park ranger around the campfire for some stories and songs!  Don’t forget to bring s’mores supplies and roasting sticks.  Free!  Meet at the Campfire Ring in the Campground.

Nighttime Lunar Sky Watch Program – Saturday, March 23, 2013 (8:30 PM – 10:30 PM)

APOE (Astronomy Public Outreach Education) Astronomers are back for an evening up-close tour of the waxing (growing) moon. Constellations visible might include Orion, Taurus, Lepus, Canis Major and Minor, Gemini and Leo will be rising in the east.  $3 per person.  Please pay at the Park Office.

 

EASTER AT THE PARK – Friday, March 29, 2013

Easter Basket Craft (7:00 PM)

Make an Easter basket to collect your eggs!!  We will decorate recycled milk jugs with paint to make them perfect for the hunt.  Please bring your own one gallon milk cartons.  Free!

 

Flashlight Easter Hunt – Ages 0-5 years (8:00 PM)

Bring your kids ages 0 to 5, flashlights and baskets to Crooked River's Egg Hunt in the dark.  $3.00 per child.  Limited space available on a first come-first served basis.  Feel free to pick up your tickets early at the Park Office.  Please pay for the program at the Park Office.

 

Flashlight Easter Hunt – Family Hunt (8:30 PM)

Bring your family, friends, flashlights and baskets to Crooked River's Egg Hunt in the dark.  Prizes will include: candy and toys.  Grand Prizes will be one round of mini-golf!   $3.00 per person.  (If child paid to participate in 7:30 hunt then this hunt is included.)  Limited space available on a first come-first served basis.  Feel free to pick up your tickets early at the Park Office.  Please pay for the program at the Park Office.

 

Beginner Birding – Saturday, March 30, 2013 (10:00 AM – Noon)

Join a park ranger to learn about the winter birds!  From 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM we will discuss the different birds you might see in Georgia.  From 11:00 AM – Noon we will take a walk to see what we can discover!  Binoculars available.  Free!
