ST. MARYS, GA—Visual artists are invited to sign up for the May 5 “Outdoor Arts in Motion” event in Downtown St. Marys. From 11 am to 4 pm, artists will create their artworks in an outdoor venue along the historic district. The public is invited to observe the process.
Event organizers Jacquie Cushway and Glenda Barber said that the event will give artists an opportunity to share their art with the public and at the same time give observers a chance to see how art is developed.
“Camden County has an abundance of talented artists,” Cushway said. “Outdoor Arts in Motion is a perfect event to give these artists exposure.”
Barber agreed. “St. Marys’ historic district is beautiful this time of the year, and will be a powerful muse to inspire artists and their audiences,” Barber said.
Registration for the event begins at 10:00 a.m. at Orange Hall. Judging is at 4 p.m. First place artists will receive $100 sponsored by Arts Camden. Second place artist will receive $75 sponsored by Coastal Camden Art League. Artists are encouraged to indicate their interest by emailing artsandmusicstroll@gmail.com or calling 912-882-8646.
