National Trails Day Celebration - June 9 (Rivers are trails, too!)

NATIONAL TRAILS DAY TO BE HIGHLIGTED IN HISTORIC ST. MARYS, GEORGIA

Rivers are Trails, Too! 

 

ST. MARYS, GA (May 15, 2012) – Come out on Saturday, June 9^th and participate in National Trails Day activities during the Fourth Annual Fun in the Sun Expo.  Rivers are trails, too, and you're invited to celebrate the Georgia Coast Saltwater Paddle Trails designation as a National Recreation Trail. Activities, provided by Up the Creek Xpeditions, will include Kayak and Paddleboarding demonstrations between 10:30am – 2:30pm, education on how to "Be Like Bigfoot" through Leave No Trace practices, and a one-hour river clean-up by kayak from 1:30pm-2:30pm.  Bring your own kayak out for the river clean-up or, if you’re one of the first ten to sign-up the day of the event, you can receive complimentary kayak, for the hour, courtesy of Up the Creek Xpeditions.
