Guided Tours at The east entrance of

Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge

All activities start inside the east entrance of Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, 7 miles southwest of Folkston, GA, off the Okefenokee Parkway South (GA 121/23).

 

The music of sandhill cranes fills the air. It’s a great time of year to visit Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and participate in our guided activities!

 

Saturday, February 4

Digging Through Our Past  

11 a.m.–noon

Uncover the human history and its impacts on the Okefenokee!  Meet in front of the visitor center for this one mile walk along the Canal Diggers Trail. Bring sturdy shoes.

Come on down to the Cane Pole Trail to see what is happening this winter day. Bring binoculars if you have them, or borrow ours. Meet at the visitor center.

1–2 p.m.

Do you have what it takes to Leave No Trace and be a Nature Ninja? Join a ranger in the picnic pavilion near the visitor center and prove that you can do it!
